TWITTER is a website, which offers a social networking and microblogging service. It enables its users to send and read other users' messages called tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters – so all tweets are short and to the point.
With more than 175 million users worldwide, it’s an incredibly powerful means of communication. As the site itself notes:
“Twitter is a rich source of instantly updated information. It's easy to stay updated on an incredibly wide variety of topics.”
With that in mind, all Solidarity Trade Union members and supporters should consider following the union on Twitter. Our General Secretary – Pat Harrington – uses it to communicate the latest news, views and information from STU. This information will be of general interest to all trade unionists. However it will be of great interest to those nationalists and patriots with a specific interest in social, economic and industrial affairs.
To find out what STU is saying now, go to: http://twitter.com/Solidaritygb
We’d also urge any Solidarity members and supporters to re-post STU tweets on their own Twitter accounts. Remember, we are engaged in a battle for the hearts and minds of ordinary working folks – and every little extra helps!
