EARLIER this week thousands of Trade Unionists marched in Birmingham to protest against the Con-Dem Government cuts. Birmingham was chosen as the Lib-Dems were holding their Autumn Conference in the city.
However, all roads will soon lead to Manchester, where the Tories will be holding their Annual Conference.
The Trades Union Congress is organizing a march and rally on Sunday 2 October. It is in protest at the “Coalition Government's disastrous policies of pay freezes, cuts and attacks on public services that are producing rising unemployment, cuts in living standards and stagnation.”
Solidarity Trade Union calls upon its members and supporters to support this demonstration. Earlier this year, around half a million people attended the TUCs first March for the Alternative: Jobs, Growth, Justice which was held in London towards the end of March. Let’s hope that there’s a similar massive turn out in Manchester!
